Our team of expert metal fabricators can make a wide variety of gates, railings and bespoke handrails. Mostly we use steel, which includes galvanised and stainless as well as mild steel. We can also work with chrome and wrought iron, which means that we can make metal gates and handrails to fit any space or customer specification.

Due to the versatility of how we work with metal, and what our customers are looking for, we can adapt our products. So whilst we cut and weld metal, we can combine the metal with wood or composite panels to make a truly interesting and unique product for you. The railings we make can be made to the height to suit you and topped with the decorative finish of your choice, which means that the combination of gate choices can be quite substantial!

How We Quote and Fit

1. Send us photos and measurements

   Use the contact page or call us. Photos of the area, rough measurements, and pictures of any designs you like are enough to start with.

2. Provisional quote

   From those, we give you a provisional quote, so you know roughly where you stand before anyone visits.

3. Survey at your property

   If you like the provisional quote, we come to you to measure up, check fixing points and ground conditions, and bring samples and a catalogue of toppers to choose from.

4. Fixed price quote

   With everything measured and checked, we confirm a fixed price.

5. Made to measure

   Your gate, railings or handrail are fabricated to the surveyed measurements, then primed and painted or powder coated in the colour you've chosen.

6. Fitted by us

   We install what we make, and you only make the final payment once you are happy with the finished job.

Repairs and Refurbishment

As well as new work, we repair and refresh existing metal gates and railings: welding rusted or broken sections, resetting gates that have dropped, and stripping, shot blasting and repainting or powder coating tired metalwork. Send a photo of the gate and the problem, and we'll tell you whether it is worth repairing or better replaced.

Can you give me a price without visiting?

Yes, a provisional one. Send us photos, rough measurements or a drawing, and we will price the job from those. If you are happy with the provisional quote, we visit to check the measurements, fixing points and ground before confirming a fixed price.

Which areas do you cover?

Derby and the surrounding area, including Duffield, Belper, Ripley, Ashbourne, Heanor, Ilkeston, Long Eaton, Etwall, Repton, Melbourne, Swadlincote, Drakelow, Castle Donington, Burton upon Trent and Tutbury. If you are just outside these, call and ask.

What metals do you work with?

Mostly steel: mild steel, galvanised and stainless. We also work with wrought iron, aluminium and chrome, and combine metal with timber or composite panels for gates.

Do you only make gates and railings?

No. Gates and railings are most of our work, but we also make handrails and take on general metal fabrication, from frames and Juliet balconies to planters, fire pits and one-off pieces, plus mobile welding repairs where the location is suitable.

Do you repair existing metal gates and railings?

Yes. We weld rusted or broken sections, reset gates that have dropped, and can remove, shot blast and refinish gates and railings that have become tired.

Do you fit what you make?

Yes. Everything we make is fitted by us, so the people who measured the job are responsible for it fitting. You only make the final payment once you are happy with it.
